Splunk provides not-for-profit academic institutions with equitable access to our platform for solving global challenges through product donation and workforce development. The program includes a 10GB, 1-year renewable license for Splunk Enterprise, access to Splunk Enterprise Security (ES) and Security Orchestration, Automation & Response (SOAR) Community Edition, and learning paths and certifications in Splunk Enterprise, Splunk Security, and Cisco Networking—all at no cost.

Foundational Platform Courses

This no-cost program for students, faculty and staff includes:Start with Foundational courses to learn how the Splunk platform works, including searching, analyzing, and visualizing data. Learners receive 12 months of access to eLearning content and multiple lab attempts, building core platform skills that prepare them for more advanced security and operational training.

Intermediate courses focus on applying Splunk in cybersecurity environments such as Security Operations Centers, detection engineering, and incident response. These courses include hands-on labs, helping learners develop practical security skills using real-world scenarios and data.

Intermediate Networking Courses

Through Cisco Networking courses, learners apply their data skills to the networking domain. You will learn how networks operate, how data—and malware—move across networks, and how to configure and monitor a basic network environment.

If you are a faculty member or university professor* who wants to use Splunk to teach students how to leverage big data analytics, practical cybersecurity skills and data-driven research insights, and meet the program requirements, then you’re ready to apply.

Program Requirements

  • Apply through Splunk’s Product Training and Donation Program 
  • Be a US-based 501c3 or
  • Certified international charity or
  • Public or private nonprofit institution of higher education

*Please note that the enrollment form must be completed by a college/university administrator or faculty member – students cannot enroll themselves.
