Role Summary

Splunk is seeking an innovative copywriter with a penchant for content strategy to join our world-class Brand and Creative team. Reporting to our Director of Design, this role will be instrumental in crafting Splunk's narrative and improving our brand presence. The copywriter will play a crucial role in engaging with a broad audience across multiple digital properties including splunk.com and conf.splunk.com. We're seeking a creative wordsmith who can craft compelling stories, accessible copy, and captivating headlines. Responsibilities

  • Develop creative copy and engaging headlines for all sections of the Splunk site, event sites, and campaign landing pages.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to conceptualize and build impactful copy that resonates with our audiences and drives engagement and conversions.
  • Craft site content that gains user attention and optimally communicates Splunk's value proposition.
  • Elevate the user experience on Splunk.com by crafting clear, concise, and persuasive copy for various website sections.
  • Collaborate closely with web page owners, content strategy, and UI, UX, and visual designers to craft engaging, informational, and uncomplicated website content.
  • Streamline content to work within character limitations.
  • Uphold and reinforce Splunk's brand voice and our messaging strategy.
  • Coordinate with team copywriters to uphold and evolve Splunk writing styles and guidelines.
  • Ensure content is consistent across Splunk digital properties, and that it aligns with the brand's voice, tone, and messaging
  • Use SEO standard methodologies to ensure content is discoverable and ranks well in search engines
  • Collaborate across departments to understand business goals and target audience needs, then translate them into easy-to-understand content

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5-7 years as a copywriter in a corporate or agency setting, with a focus on digital marketing and online platforms.
  • Outstanding creativity and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate sophisticated concepts into clear and engaging copy.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing standard processes, including SEO, SEM, and social media advertising.
  • Experience with crafting copy for various digital channels, including social media, email marketing, and website content.
  • Excellent communication skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • The ability to work as a member of a team and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • A portfolio of work examples that showcases relevant experience.

Base Pay Range

SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area

Base Pay Range: $108,000.00 - 148,500.00 per year

California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts

Base Pay Range: $97,200.00 - 133,650.00 per year

All other cities and states excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro Area and Washington DC Metro Area.

Base Pay Range: $86,400.00 - 118,800.00 per year

Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
