You:

As a designer within the Global Shared Services (GSS) organization, you will be responsible for designing creative solutions for the Splunk demo platform and Splunk applications. You will help define the design strategy for products and be supportive of that strategy. At times, you would engage at a technical level to assist with frontend architecture and design development initiatives. The ideal applicant will be highly-motivated and have provided software design, technology consulting, graphics design, or creative vector graphics solutions. The applicant should be comfortable discussing issues of scale and fostering innovation in a dynamic technical organization with a rapidly growing customer base. The applicant should be able to research, design, and deliver Splunk integrations to our customers.
This role would suit an applicant with both creative and technical skills who can craft visually appealing assets and also work closely with web development teams to bring these designs to life!

Responsibilities:

  • Own impactful design and user experience problems from inception and architecture to production launch.
  • Help build design creatives solutions to improve Splunk's market position.
  • Work alongside the Splunk Dashboard PM and Engineering teams to deliver complete UX workflows to solve top user needs.
  • Ensure design work match and use the existing design system and shared engineering components.
  • Design thoughtful, user-centered experiences for end-to-end user journeys.
  • Craft user workflow diagrams, prototypes, wireframes, and high-fidelity designs.
  • Distill and communicate technically sophisticated use cases into easily understood concepts and design solutions.
  • Plan, conduct, and analyze user research projects.
  • Work with multi-functional teams throughout product development (including user research, product management, and engineering).
  • Partner closely with engineering to ensure that design specifications are implemented
  • Partner with user research to deeply understand user needs. Speak with users and clients frequently. Test design concepts with customers and conduct usability studies.
  • You show up with integrity, have difficult conversations, and grow the company in emerging directions.
  • Have experience with business driven planning and goal-setting exercises across functions and business units.

Must Have

  • Two or more years of experience crafting and developing front-end applications.
  • Expert in using industry-standard design and prototyping tools (Figma, Miro, Lucidchart)
  • Knowledge of Data Visualization interfaces, especially in a B2B environment
  • Understanding of design systems and experience using, and contributing to, design systems
  • Excellent visual design skills and a high-level understanding of visual solutions for all screen sizes

Requirements:

  • Master crafting prototypes to communicate sophisticated design concepts to users and project partners
  • Experience collaborating with other designers and departments - you’re comfortable taking and incorporating feedback from other team members
  • A positive track record of handing off buildable designs to engineering teams
  • Not afraid of project or product ambiguity and willing to learn new skills
  • Written and verbal communication skills.
  • Usable knowledge of security, networking, server, database, and enterprise applications.
  • Familiarity with products, companies, and solutions in the DevOps, IT & Security marketplaces.
  • Self-motivated, self-learner, and willing to collaborate with customers and fellow Splunkers.
  • Ability to work with diverse teams spread across the globe.

Preferred:

  • Experience working with large-scale enterprises and complex technical environments.

Education

Bachelor’s/Master's degree in User Experience Design, Human Factors, Graphic Design, Industrial Design, User Experience Research, or other strongly related field

Note:

Base Pay Range

Costa Rica

Base Pay: CRC 28,800,000.00 - 39,600,000.00 per year

Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
