Sr SLED Marketing Mgr

Role Summary

In this role, you'll serve as the Senior Marketing Manager for Splunk’s SLED field marketing function. You will work in close partnership with SLED sales leaders to develop effective marketing plans that align and support the business goals of the SLED team. You will also work closely and collaborate with partner marketing, product marketing, content marketing, media relations and other cross-functional teams to implement these plans.
This position requires outstanding leadership skills, communications skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with other marketing and sales organizations. You will be responsible for implementing a variety of digital and in-person marketing strategies and using the latest marketing automation tools to track results. This position reports to the Senior Director of Public Sector Marketing for Splunk.

What you'll get to do

  • Lead and implement the entire marketing strategy for Splunk’s SLED business within Splunk’s overall public sector business.
  • Create new programs from scratch and adapt and tailor corporate marketing programs for the SLED market.
  • Work cross-functionally with multiple public sector marketing functions to develop comprehensive campaigns that are measurable and focused on pipeline growth.
  • Partner with other corporate marketing teams including Splunk’s global events marketing team, sales enablement, marketing operations, digital sales, and Splunk’s integrated marketing team.
  • Articulate how Splunk solutions help solve specific customer challenges in the SLED market, including working with the public sector marketing team and corporate messaging teams to develop and tailor communication.
  • Measure and report results to Splunk’s SLED and public sector leadership.
  • Leverage and enhance Splunk’s brand presence in the market
  • Collaborate with partner marketing and integrate partner marketing elements into the SLED marketing strategy

Must-have Qualifications

  • Travel: Travel to regional SLED marketing events, Splunk events, and internal meetings is required.
  • A minimum of 7+ years with demonstrated success creating and implementing marketing growth strategies to public sector customers.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills and experience delivering presentations to executive staff.
  • Experience implementing and measuring digital marketing strategies at scale.
  • Experience managing and implementing tradeshows and field events.
  • 5+ years experience working within the software as a service (SaaS) technology industry or within the technology industry as a whole.
  • Demonstrated management and leadership skills.
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent experience in marketing or related field.

Nice-to-have Qualifications

  • Location: The preferred location for this position is the greater Washington, D.C. metro area. The regional public sector headquarters is based in McLean, Virginia. Qualified candidates outside the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area may be considered.
  • Experience: Working within a matrix-marketing organization where your success and outcomes depend upon working with cross-functional groups that you do not manage.
  • Knowledge: Working knowledge of public sector customer challenges, technology buying processes and various types of public sector technology influencers and buyers.

Note:

Base Pay Range

SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area

Base Pay Range: $160,000.00 - 220,000.00 per year

California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts

Base Pay Range: $144,000.00 - 198,000.00 per year

All other cities and states excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro Area and Washington DC Metro Area.

Base Pay Range: $129,600.00 - 178,200.00 per year

Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
