Sr. Event Content Manager – Content Strategy & Execution - Remote

Role Summary

We’re looking for a strategic and creative Senior Event Manager to lead Splunk’s content strategy, development and execution for our flagship events and experiences as well as content strategy for global tier 2 field events! The candidate will partner with senior leadership and functional leaders to define and prioritize product, solution, and core learning goals and is responsible for translating strategy to an end-to-end operational program. Be responsible for shaping the content strategy across our events portfolio, working cross-functionally to ensure every session, speaker, and agenda delivers impact and drives value. Candidates for this position will have experience driving alignment across event content, operations and technology teams. Strong leadership and expertise driving cross functional teams are required, as are excellent written and verbal skills. This position resides within the Global Event Marketing team as part of the Corporate Marketing organization and reports to the Director of Event Experiences.

What you'll get to do

  • Develop and be responsible for the end-to-end content strategy for Splunk’s key events, from concept through execution. Establish the event content strategy for each program, including evaluating company educational and marketing goals, and identifying new content opportunities
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and subject matter authorities to align content with business goals and attendees needs
  • Curate and handle speaker lineups, panels, keynotes, and session formats that resonate with target audiences. This includes over 200+ breakout sessions for our flagship event, conf, providing guidance to track owners relative to session mix and other considerations, and ensure key topics/products/solutions are covered according to defined goals
  • Lead the content production process, including speaker onboarding, briefing materials, and presentation reviews
  • Drive innovation in event content formats and delivery, ensuring experiences are engaging, inclusive, and on-brand
  • Partner closely with marketing, comms, creative, and production teams to ensure seamless integration across channels
  • Lead content execution team across aspects of Splunk's event operations processes, including internal and external technology integrations, and technical vendor relationships. This spans across in-person, website and mobile technologies
  • Track content performance through post-event surveys, feedback, and analytics to advise future programming
  • Drive innovation within event content strategy in response to industry, customer personas, and business needs
  • Drive continuous improvement of processes aligned to the changing needs of the business.
  • Collaborate and work with event agency counterparts to improve value and output.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of event content experience, with a strong focus on content strategy, programming, and planning, in a fast-paced, highly-matrixed environment, preferably in a technology company
  • Proven success delivering high-impact B2B event content at scale (in-person, virtual, or hybrid) across buyer personas and products
  • Familiarity with event platforms and virtual event tools, including Rainfocus and Swoogo
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple projects at once, set priorities, work independently, problem solve, improvise and function as part of a team that performs under pressure
  • Consistent track record driving cross-functional collaboration across diverse sets of stakeholders (many of whom are geographically dispersed)
  • Diplomacy, integrity and presence that enables you to work effectively at all levels within a large organization
  • Enthusiastic teammate with outstanding communication, writing, project management and interpersonal skills
  • Motivated self-starter with outstanding organizational skills and shown success at meeting deadlines
  • Experience handling third-party vendors, contractors, and budgets
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent years of experience

Note:

Base Pay Range

SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area

Base Pay Range: $160,000.00 - 220,000.00 per year

California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts

Base Pay Range: $144,000.00 - 198,000.00 per year

All other cities and states excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro Area and Washington DC Metro Area.

Base Pay Range: $129,600.00 - 178,200.00 per year

Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
