What is a Sales Engineer at Splunk exactly...

The Sales Engineer is the technical member of the Customer Account Team. They are the trusted advisor to both customers and the Sales Representative as the Splunk team collaborates to find the right solution for the business scenarios that are most important to the customer. Sales Engineers venture into the weeds with the customer’s technical team and journey back with a translation for the business ear. Everything we do has one goal, and that is the success of the customer.

What you will do in your first months at Splunk…

New Splunk Sales Engineers will get the opportunity to become familiar with the Splunk product line through observatory sessions with tenured Sales Engineers:
  • Partner with a tenured Sales Engineer to learn about Splunk’s products and sales process
  • Shadow customer calls and engage in mock scenarios with your team
  • Help out with presentation development, workshops and/or technical concept proof events as the account team moves the customers towards the close of sale.
  • Hone your Splunk presentation skills and prepare to present technical concepts to customers and how to discover their needs
  • Meet weekly with your team, manager and mentors to discuss what you’ve learned
  • Find your Splunk voice by discussing and evangelizing our products and services to customers
  • Network with Splunkers from all walks of life and explore what Splunk has to offer
