About the Role

Be part of a team whose mission is to build a multi cloud observability platform for our sophisticated and diverse set of customers. Splunk is the only company whose products have been named as leaders in both Security and Observability. You will help in smooth and agile continuous integration and deployment for sophisticated, multi technology, multi cloud platform products. You will ensure critical compliance requirements are met for our cutting edge service intelligence products. You will play a crucial role in maintaining top notch quality that our strong and diverse customer base expects. You will push the boundaries of how large scale repos are handled, maintained. You will play a pivotal role in our release management process. You will understand the product implementation, make sure that compliance and quality controls are part of the design. You will contribute to development if required.

Responsibilities

  • Own the implementation of CI/ CD pipelines. This involves understanding fluidic and sophisticated requirements, identifying the right tech that helps solving this and a seamless implementation.

  • Improve performance and efficiency metrics for these pipelines through continuous analysis, improvement.

  • Develop and maintain automation test suites ,triage bugs and pipeline errors.

  • Be responsible for the implementation of compliance pipelines.

  • Build automation environments and pipelines that will improve the quality.

  • Create easy to use, easily re-creatable, most efficient development environment that fuel developer productivity

  • Own the release process and systems that will ensure smooth, timely and predictable global product releases.

  • Collaborate with other product teams in Splunk, compliance teams to deliver our customer promises on compliance

  • Become proficient in Splunk's core technologies and processes as they apply to application development.

  • Participate in design discussions actively, propose and/or discuss solutions to the system, in particular in relation to quality, compliance.

Qualifications

Must-Have:

  • 4+ years of relevant industry experience with a bachelor’s degree; or 3+ years and a master’s degree

  • Strong 2+ years practical experience in GitLab or equivalent branching strategies and release management.

  • Experience with CI/ CD pipelines creation and setting up the monitoring processes for managing their health.

  • Experience with setting up development environments for sophisticated products.

  • Experience with setting up quality processes

  • Strong knowledge around scripting using python and shell or equivalent.

  • Good computer science fundamentals that includes OS concepts

  • Excellent problem solving, collaboration, and communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Familiar with the agile software development process

Nice to have skills:

  • Experience in working with cloud infra management tools like docker, terraform.

  • Exposure to security testing and security certification tools.

  • Experience in working with functional automation frameworks like Selenium, WebdriverIO

  • Knowledge and production programming experience in at least one of Java/C++/Python

  • Experience developing, debugging applications

  • Should be able to guide junior developers or interns
