Software Engineer

  • - Hybrid Remote

 

This is a role in the “User And Entity Behavior Analytics” (UEBA) team, part of the “Enterprise Security” division.
UEBA is a critical risk management solution that leverages ML algorithms and behavior analytics to provide comprehensive user and entity insights. By delving into these insights, security teams can identify anomalies and take measures to mitigate potential impacts.
You will participate and work on both frontend and backend features for cloud and on-prem platforms. You will deliver these features to meet the ever-increasing scalability, performance, and security requirements.
As a Software Engineer, you will be contributing to delivering top quality Splunk's security products, taking ownership of the design, implementation and quality of services you deliver. You will help drive process improvements and collaborate effectively with fast paced multi-functional teams to tackle problems and implement new solutions.

Responsibilities:

You will collaborate with other team members to craft and build durable solutions, keeping scalability and performance considerations as a high priority, while tracking product quality with automated testing. You will contribute to improving the team's productivity and efficiency by growing our existing tools and processes.
At some point, we'll expect you to become proficient in Splunk's core technologies as they apply to application development,
This role comes with the on-call shift schedule, up to 20% of time.
 

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Proficiency in Python (and ideally React, or willingness to learn)
Non-essential, but desired skills:
  • Familiarity with development of RESTful services
  • Experience with working on large (10TB+) data volumes
  • Experience with an agile software development model
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD - related tools: Git, GitLab CI, Docker, bash
  • Familiarity with automated testing: Unit Tests, Functional Tests, Performance Tests, End-to-end tests
  • Good understanding of databases and experience in database query languages (SQL, noSQL)
