Senior Software Engineer(Fullstack)

About the Role

Be part of a full stack team whose mission is to create a user experience for the leading Observability platform built by Splunk. Splunk is the only company whose products have been named as leaders in both Security and Observability. You will contribute to the backend and frontend code to create and maintain the IT Service Intelligence product at Splunk.

This position will need to be physically located in the Hyderabad, India area.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and own moderate complexity features .

  • Become proficient in Splunk's core technologies and processes as they apply to application development.

  • Participate in design discussions actively, proposes and/or discusses solutions to system

  • Design subsystems and work with senior engineers to consider scale, performance, high availability as part of design.

  • Designs for testability. Automates effective test cases, and can make necessary test framework improvements as required.

  • Take ownership of subsystems and/or small features and propose changes or improvements to them.

  • Work with support, customers to actively troubleshoot issues and propose workaround

Qualifications

Must-Have:

  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience with a bachelor’s degree; or 3+ years and a master’s degree

  • Good knowledge of web standards and modern browsers, responsive design, and of the full web technology stack.

  • Extensive knowledge and production programming experience in at least one of Java/C++/Python

  • Experience in client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks (React)

  • A strong foundation in computer science, with strong competencies in operating systems, networks, data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, and software design

  • Excellent problem solving, collaboration, and communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Experience developing, debugging applications

  • Experience designing and developing REST-based services with well-defined contracts

  • Familiar with the agile software development process

Nice to have skills:

  • Should be able to guide junior developers or interns

  • Experience in working within a Continuous Delivery (CD) development model

  • Experience with Ruby on Rails
