Role Summary

Do you enjoy solving sophisticated, technical security problems at scale? As a member of the Software Security Engineering organization, you will work with engineering organizations to implement secure development practices across the Splunk product portfolio. Within this role, you will develop groundbreaking software solutions that automate security scanning and shorten vulnerability remediation cycles. You will partner closely with Product Security and CI/CD teams to integrate critical security tooling into the SDLC, which helps thousands of engineers securely ship their products to market.

Are you ready to out-engineer, out-execute, and out-pivot the bad actors with a world-renowned security leader? Our team of problem solvers and security engineers collaborate with teams across Splunk to address critical issues, investigate open source vulnerabilities, elevate the internal customer experience, and more. Learn more about the team, meet our leaders, and hear more from our Splunk security experts at splunk.com/careers/splunk-global-security.

What you'll get to do

  • Design and implement user interfaces for new security applications and services.
  • Contribute to DevSecOps strategy and team engineering roadmap.
  • Research, automate, and tune security scanning tools that provide SAST, DAST, and SCA within the company's CI/CD pipelines.
  • Work with product engineering teams to improve security processes, improve developer workflows, and raise security awareness.
  • Partner with customers, regulators, and compliance teams to build new security controls.

Must-have Qualifications

  • 5 to 7 years developing modern user interfaces using frameworks such as React, Django, or Angular.
  • Demonstrated experience in DevOps, SRE, Security, or Software Development roles.
  • Demonstrated experience with modern infrastructure such as Docker, Kubernetes, Linux, and Serverless.
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.

Nice-to-have Qualifications

We’ve taken special care to separate the must-have qualifications from the nice-to-haves. “Nice-to-have” means just that: Nice. To. Have. So, don’t worry if you can’t check off every box. We’re not hiring a list of bullet points–we’re interested in the whole you.
  • Experience in building and deploying in cloud native environments such as AWS is a bonus.
  • Experience implementing security tooling and automation within software build pipelines is a plus.
  • Security certifications such as CompTIA Security+ or GIAC Security Essentials.
