Senior Product Manager – Splunk Observability for ITOps

As a Product Manager on the Observability team at Splunk (a Cisco company), you will work in an entrepreneurial, cross-functional and collaborative environment, working with engineering, design, marketing and sales counterparts to define and drive key functionalities within our Observability products, passionate about the IT Operations persona, predominantly driven by service centric monitoring and insights.

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to help bring our industry leading Observability solutions to a new level. You will work closely with your peers in product, engineering, design, and GTM team to prioritize and drive a roadmap of innovative capabilities around our Splunk IT Service Intelligence (ITSI) product line, a key pillar of Splunk’s Observability portfolio.
This position requires understanding users’ needs and workflows, instincts and creativity to conceptualise and implement new user journeys, and technical expertise. Knowledge of software development will enable you to produce clear product requirements and navigate the technical complexity of our monitoring products and development processes.
This position will be based in the Hyderabad office in India and will need to work with our distributed team across the San Francisco, San Jose, and RTP offices in the US.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the end-to-end product lifecycle, including understanding customer and user needs, translating and communicating those needs crisply through a prioritized roadmap, and partnering with design and engineering teams to deliver a compelling product experience
  • Actively maintain a view of how the AIOps market, competition and technologies are evolving, and factor it, as well as feedback from internal groups and customers, into the product strategy
  • Collaborate with product marketing, support and the sales team to drive GTM efforts and solve for business limiters within your control and pursue key business accelerants
  • Leverage telemetry analytics, user feedback, and performance metrics to make informed product decisions and prioritize product development.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of total experience with 3+ yrs of exp in product management or technical product management roles
  • BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent (MBA a plus)
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize requirements across conflicting dimensions and to be clear on the minimum capabilities that matter
  • Able to independently identify significant opportunities in an ambiguous area and build consensus around roadmaps
  • A passion for customer journey, user experience, usability and a knack for simplicity; willing and able to investigate technical requirements
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to lead, collaborate and influence via persuasion, perseverance and energy
  • Domain awareness and exposure on IT Operations Management (ITOM), AIOps, and Service Management
  • Familiar with Cloud Provider platforms and services; and software deployment models on-prem and on-cloud.
  • Comfortable with deploying simple examples for demonstration of product capabilities and/or in support of marketing activities.
  • Excellent analytical / problem-solving skills. Ability to identify patterns and synthesize disparate data into a coherent whole
  • Experience with building software products, understanding engineering tradeoffs, and an intuition for the needs of the developers and operators who use our products
  • Willing to do whatever it takes to get quality products and features to market on time

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a customer-facing technical role(s) (e.g. Technical Consultant, Solution Architect, Pre-sales Consultant, Sales Engineering, Technical Marketing)
  • Exposure to SQL based query language(s) - Splunk SPL is a plus!
  • Expertise in IT Operations Management incl. Incident lifecycle management
  • Exposure to AI and Machine learning based capabilities
  • Background in enterprise SaaS; bonus if those were monitoring or analytics related

Base Pay Range

India

Base Pay: INR 2,720,000.00 - 3,740,000.00 per year

Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
