As a Senior Engineering Manager, you'll lead the development of essential distributed database components(and beyond) in our Structured Storage area. In this role, you will:
Lead the Structured Storage engineering team focused on design, development and maintenance of structured storage solutions for the Splunk platform
Diagnose and resolve systemic obstacles that prevent your team from delivering high-quality software.
Partner with your manager, architect, product manager, and peers to ensure alignment of your team’s work in delivering product improvements to customers.
Champion an atmosphere of continuous improvement by serving as a coach, mentor, and technical advisor.
Plan and support career development.
Recruit and retain top talent.
Be an advocate of scalable and extensible, recoverable, manageable architecture for Core products and services.
Ideal Experience
Experience leading engineering teams developing and delivering scalable systems software solutions
Experience working within geographically distributed organizations.
Experience building and cultivating strong engineering practices and processes.
Consistent track record of delivering scalable, high performance, and high quality software systems.
Broad understanding of various cloud development technologies and industry trends for enterprise-scale, distributed systems. Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL is a plus
Strong technical acumen, creativity, interpersonal skills, and emotional intelligence.
Knowledge of public cloud services such as AWS, GCP, Azure is a plus

Base Pay Range
SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area
Base Pay Range: $203,200.00 - 279,400.00 per year
California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts
Base Pay Range: $182,880.00 - 251,460.00 per year
All other cities and states excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro Area and Washington DC Metro Area.
Base Pay Range: $162,560.00 - 223,520.00 per year
Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
