Role Summary

Are you passionate about turning business and technical information into engaging storytelling? Splunk is looking for a highly motivated and analytical person to join our Proposals and Programs team.
You will work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating daily with sellers, project managers, engineers and internal business specialists. The role will involve identifying and building answers to questions from Splunk customers on a variety of topics as well as developing and documenting internal business processes. In our agile environment, the team is continuously creating and updating a repository of authoritative data and processes with improvements and new features.

Meet the Go To Market Operations Team

The Proposals and Programs Team lives within the Deal Strategy and Execution Team ("DSE") which is under Splunk's Go To Market Operations organization. The team consists of the Proposals team which handles responses to customer's requests for proposals ("RFx") and the Programs team that supports by creating and communicating Splunk-wide programs, processes, and enablement.

What you'll get to do

  • Intake and process incoming RFx requests from sellers
  • Review, complete and customize RFP, RFI and RFQ responses from the proposal data repository, including technical responses relating to software on-premises, in the cloud, and hybrid solutions
  • Review and incorporate input, including technical specifications, from specialists on various internal teams into RFx responses and data repository
  • Complete and assist in processing go-no go analyses, project kick-off meetings, strategy sessions and proposal project planning
  • Ensure responses follow brand style and tone guidelines as well as collaborate with internal Splunk specialists and engineers to develop data and answers as needed
  • Verify that responses address key customer hot buttons, technical product features and win themes
  • Assist with proposal knowledge management and retention of answers for future use and template and repository development
  • Assist with development and maintenance of policies and procedures for internal Splunk use

Must-have Qualifications

  • 5 years + experience creating and developing SaaS solutions proposals in support of sales teams in response to commercial and public RFx/tenders, contracting, administration, and proposal activities;
  • Fluent in written and spoken business level English ;
  • Strong interpersonal skills - forming successful relationships and collaborating across functional teams; and
  • Excellent time management skills and balancing high workload of multiple requests and projects with short timeframes.

Nice-to-have Qualifications

We’ve taken special care to separate the must-have qualifications from the nice-to-haves. “Nice-to-have” means just that: Nice. To. Have. So, don’t worry if you can’t check off every box. We’re not hiring a list of bullet points–we’re interested in the whole you.
  • Technical knowledge of Splunk offerings and ability to discuss technical features internally and with customers;
  • Experience with Salesforce as well as proposal management software (Avnio preferred);
  • Experience in new program and process development and evaluating what is needed to succeed; and
  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science or a related field, or relevant professional experience.
