Role Summary
What you'll get to do
- Lead multiple projects and task teams solving complex cross portfolio customer challenges.
- Collaborate directly with Engineering and Solutions Architecture teams on how to architect, create, re-engineer and leverage our product portfolio to solve for capabilities.
- Be a thought leader, role model and mentor for the Solution Architecture teams.
- Guide and influence the team to innovate across Security, Observability, and Enterprise including all Cisco products.
- Work collaboratively with all cross functional teams to ensure the right strategies, products and services are in place to succeed in the market.
- Interact with top customers, prospects and industry groups to understand their business challenges, strategic thinking and desired outcomes.
- Provide thought leadership, developing competitive advantage with unique capabilities.
- Influence critical enablement, skills and messaging for field technical assets and activities.
- Work with Public Sector Sales and SE leaders, innovators and specialists driving unique business outcomes strategies across the Federal and SLED ecosystem.
- Provide technical deal strategy guidance and direct support on complex opportunities.
Must-have Qualifications
- Typically requires 12+ years of related experience (including 5+ years as a Solutions/Enterprise Architect) with a Technical Bachelors Degree or higher, or 8 years and a technical Master’s degree; or a PhD with 5 years’ experience; or equivalent experience.
- Must have experience as a technical architect supporting various large scale complex customers: DOD, Federal Civilian Agencies, Large State and Local Governments, Major Universities, Government Systems Integrators.
- Strong experience recognizing and leading the technical business strategy in the market.
- Proven track record of working and leading with technical cross functional team.s
- Extensive experience positioning and selling cloud-based and hybrid solutions.
- Broad experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Microsoft Azure including Government and Commercial offerings.
- Must have Splunk and Cisco Portfolio solution selling experience.
- Competitive knowledge of Primary competitors strengths and weaknesses.
- Solution Architect and Industry certifications.
- Knowledge of security and common compliance frameworks leveraged in Public Sector.
- Technically curious, innovation oriented and able to articulate the value that technology brings to solving complex customer business outcomes.
- Proven executive communication skills – written and oral. Ability to communicate and lead complex ideas cross functionally across all levels both internally and externally. Must have experience leading and influencing: Enterprise Architecture Leadership, Chief Data and AI Officers, VP of Architecture, Chief Technology Officers.
- Strong ability to inspire others and motivate them to act with a sense of urgency and empowerment.
- Support an inclusive culture and role model for Splunk, Cisco values.
- Active Security Clearance is desirable.
- Washington, DC Metro area location is desirable.

OTE Pay Ranges
For sales roles the ranges are expressed as On Target Earning or OTE (OTE = base + incentives in the form of sales incentive plans).
SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area
On Target Earnings: $221,600.00 - 304,700.00 per year
California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), New York (excludes NYC Metro Area), and all other states.
On Target Earnings: $204,000.00 - 280,500.00 per year
Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the On Target Earnings (OTE) range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the OTE pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to OTE, this role may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
