As the Leader for Developer Relations, you will be instrumental in bridging the gap between our engineering teams and external developers. You will cultivate a vibrant developer community, advocate for their needs internally, and drive initiatives that enhance developer engagement and satisfaction.

A leader adept at translating business problems and requirements into concise, actionable tasks for technical teams, with a focus on tenacious prioritization, market insight, and empowering decision-making. Must be agile-savvy, resilient, and influential, deeply versed in epics, stories, and lean principles.
Team Members: This SWAT team of Full Stack Developers helps provide Splunk customers immediate value by building proof solutions, workflows, and integrations. An opportunity to lead and work with highly talented and sought-after technical individuals whose work influences product innovation, Go-to-market, and paves the way for scale.
As a DevRel committee member representing Global Technical Sales, we will be forging the relationship with products, marketing, and engineering. We will build a GTM strategy and self-sustaining governed ecosystem of passionate Builders and Developers. FDSEs are comfortable working with Architects, Solutions Engineers, Customers, Product Managers, and key account holders to help get the technical win. FDSE members work cross-functionally to partner with solutions engineering, partners, developers, go-to-market, open source, legal/innovation, support/documentation team, and product leaders to graduate the technical solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • You will lead a global cross-functional team focused on Developer Relations and partner with diverse set of leaders and peers (from product, engineering, marketing, field teams, app publication, open source committee, program and strategy, and documentation) to develop and maintain a well-defined strategy and roadmap of a long-term solutions.
  • You will diagnose and resolve systemic obstacles that prevent your team from delivering fast-paced MLP (minimum lovable product) to the end-users and product owners.
  • Encourage the team by contextualizing the work in the greater business picture.
  • You will inspire team to be the leaders, maintain existing solutions, and groom a roadmap of impactful solutions to expand the Splunk integration ecosystem.
  • You will serve as a coach, mentor, and technical advisor to cultivate an atmosphere of continuous improvement and step up as a player when needed.
  • Leading by example: You encourage members of your team and peers around you to achieve more than they thought possible.
  • You will recruit, develop, and retain world-class developers for your team.
  • Build a culture of inclusion, transparency, continuous learning, growth, and sharing.
  • Demonstrate a desire for collaboration and a can-do approach, leading remote teams to ensure execution and delivery.
  • Share and solicit feedback early and often.

Requirements:

  • A proven leader with a growth mindset, experienced in coaching, mentoring, leading and uplifting technical teams.
  • Passion/Grit/Will: You are passionate about new technologies, everything software and product development best practices and enjoy continuous learning while demonstrating strong dedication to help uplift and grow others around you.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Cross-functional: Collaborate optimally across functions, including product management, engineering, and sales, to identify strategic partnerships and improve Splunk product offerings. Lead Scrum meetings and groom product stories in Jira.
  • Focus on the human aspect by understanding user needs and behaviors in product design and software development.
  • A proven track record as a technical lead or advisor.
  • Experience with open source ecosystem and cloud providers (AWS, GCP and/or Azure).
  • Ability to efficiently converse with customers and code in at-least one programming language.
  • 2+ years of experience leading technical teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Note:

Base Pay Range

SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area

Base Pay Range: $159,200.00 - 218,900.00 per year

California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts

Base Pay Range: $143,280.00 - 197,010.00 per year

All other cities and states excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro Area and Washington DC Metro Area.

Base Pay Range: $127,360.00 - 175,120.00 per year

Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
