Field Marketing Manager, Public Sector (Federal Civilian)

Role Summary

In this role, you'll lead the field marketing function for Splunk’s Federal Civilian customer market. You’ll work in close partnership with the sales leadership team to develop and implement the marketing strategy for this important segment of Splunk’s business. The position reports to the Senior Director of Public Sector Marketing for Splunk. This position requires excellent leadership skills, creativity and the ability to build upon and implement new elements that enhance Splunk’s strong track record of success in the Federal Civilian customer market. In this role, you will work as a trusted partner to sales, partner marketing, product marketing, campaign marketing, media relations and other cross-functional teams.
Outstanding leadership skills, communications skills and collaboration skills are essential. Successful candidates will have a demonstrated track record of using digital and in-person marketing strategies and the latest marketing automation tools to track results.

  • Collaborating and partnering with multiple sales and marketing colleagues
  • Collaborating with partner marketing and integrating partner marketing elements into the Civilian marketing strategy

Must-have Qualifications

  • Travel: Travel to regional marketing events, Splunk events, and internal meetings is required.
  • 7+ years with demonstrated success creating and implementing marketing growth strategies within the Federal public sector market.
  • Strong knowledge of the Federal Civilian public sector customer market.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills and experience delivering presentations to executive staff.
  • Experience working within the software technology industry.
  • Demonstrated management and leadership skills.
  • Bachelor degree in marketing or related field.

  • Location: The preferred location for this position is the greater Washington, D.C. metro area. The regional public sector headquarters is based in McLean, Virginia. Qualified candidates outside the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area may be considered.

Note:

Base Pay Range

SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area

Base Pay Range: $132,000.00 - 181,500.00 per year

California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts

Base Pay Range: $118,800.00 - 163,350.00 per year

All other cities and states excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro Area and Washington DC Metro Area.

Base Pay Range: $105,600.00 - 145,200.00 per year

Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
