Happy New Year! We are excited to finally let the world in on a secret we’ve been working on for the past few months. It’s time to officially announce the launch of the SignalFx Customer Community! Many of our customers have been in on the secret for the last month, and we appreciate their early adoption and eagerness to make the community a success. For those that aren’t sure what I’m talking about, let me shed some light on that for you.
One of our goals in Customer Success is to make the lives of our customers easier, but we can’t exactly walk your dog or make coffee for you in the morning*. What we can do is give you a fun place to go where you can learn lots of cool things from SignalFx and from other customers using our solution.
With that in mind, we recently launched our new online SignalFx Customer Community! We are still putting the final touches on site, but many of our customers are joining the community, adding lots of content, and starting interesting conversations.
The community focuses on providing our customers value in three main areas:
Part of the reason we created the community in the first place was because our customers were always sharing stories with us of things they were doing with SignalFx that we thought were pretty cool. And we thought other customers would be interested in hearing about those discoveries as well. We wanted to bring people together and allow conversations to happen organically within the Discussion Forum space in the community.
You’ll find discussions on topics ranging from Automation and Integrations to the SignalFx API. The Discussion Forum isn’t only about hearing different use cases or getting ideas from other customers — it’s a great place to ask questions if you are trying something new. You may just end up collaborating with a SignalFx engineer, someone from our product team, or even another customer!
We know you don’t want to spend all day looking for information. We created the entire community to be searchable with Global Search. Whether you have general keyword in mind, such as everything related to AWS, or a specific one, such as the AWS CloudWatch integration with SignalFx, you can find all articles from customer responses the Discussion Forum to courses available through SignalFx Training.
For specific insight from the SignalFx team, we created a central place to find easily digestible articles in the Knowledge Base section of the community. You’ll find quick ‘how-to’ articles or information on a workaround, such as what to do when AWS CloudFront data is not synced through the AWS CloudWatch integration with SignalFx if the service is selected to sync from a limited set of regions.
Enough about us, let’s talk about you. What do you like? What do you not like? We aren’t talking about Pina Coladas or getting caught in the rain, we are talking about SignalFx. We really want to know what you think, and we’ll even help start the discussion.
You’ll find a space called “SignalFx Asks” where we share ideas on an upcoming feature (cleverly called “Featured Feature”) or a change we are thinking of making and ask for your thoughts. We want to know if that feature will make your life easier, work the way you want it to, or is in a place that is intuitive to you.
Or, you can just give us unsolicited feedback and share ideas for feature requests you would like to see. In fact, that’s one of the most used areas of the community — we had over 30 feature requests in just the few days since the community launched! The best part of the feature request section is the ability for everyone to vote on the requests. Help us understand what you would like to have in new functionality and we can prioritize accordingly. Some of these requests have already been added to the product!
There are plenty of other areas in the community, including places to learn about SignalFx Meetups and events, check out our new training courses, participate in UX research, and hear new announcements.
If you are a SignalFx customer, we would love to get to know you better and hear what we can do to make your life easier! If you haven’t gotten an invitation, let us know and we’ll send one over to you right away. In the meantime, we hope 2017 is off to a great start for you!
*If you are in San Mateo, CA, let us know and we would be happy to make you a delicious cup of coffee. ☺
