We’re excited to announce that we are committing to extend the availability of Splunk Observability Cloud to AWS London (eu-west-2) and AWS Frankfurt (eu-central-1) regions starting August 2024.
This regional expansion commitment is a testament to Splunk’s intention to meet our customers where they are worldwide with a platform that can help engineering and ITOps teams build more resilient digital systems and experiences.
Splunk Observability Cloud is Splunk’s full-stack and OpenTelemetry-native observability SaaS offering. ITOps practitioners and engineers can use this solution to monitor their infrastructure, application, and digital end-user experiences and troubleshoot quickly and easily across their entire tech stack.
With Splunk Observability Cloud, teams get access to a wide range of fully integrated capabilities in a unified experience: Splunk Infrastructure Monitoring, Splunk Application Performance Monitoring (APM), Splunk Real-User-Monitoring (RUM), and Splunk Synthetic Monitoring.
The best part is that practitioners get to take advantage of the powerful logging capabilities of Splunk Cloud Platform in Splunk Observability Cloud via Splunk Log Observer Connect and Unified Identity which enables single sign-on (SSO) between the two products.
An important note: Expected availability of Splunk Application Performance Monitoring (APM), Infrastructure Monitoring, and Log Observer Connect in AWS London and Frankfurt is August, to be followed shortly by RUM and Synthetic Monitoring.
Splunk helps you build more resilient digital systems. By extending Splunk Observability Cloud’s region availability, more customers in Europe can reduce their mean time to detect and resolve issues, deliver exceptional customer experiences, and improve workflows and cost control.
More specifically, with Splunk Observability Cloud, you get the following:
Unified visibility across your stack and environment: Regardless of where your business-critical applications and infrastructure run - on-premises, any cloud, or hybrid - Splunk Observability Cloud helps see across your infrastructure and application services and doesn’t sample any transaction (log, metrics, traces). So you get to see everything that’s happening in your systems in one, single place.
Earlier detection and investigation: Splunk Observability Cloud guides engineers and ITOps practitioners in their troubleshooting journey to accelerate MTTR with unique features such as:
In addition to these capabilities, Splunk allows you to instrument, tag, and analyze high-cardinality custom metrics, so you can easily triage and diagnose issues based on their impact on your business.
Better data and cost control: Splunk Observability Cloud is also OpenTelemetry-native, which means you only need to instrument once and can gain full control over your data by avoiding vendor lock-in or proprietary agents! Splunk also provides enterprise controls through Pipeline Management, APIs, role-based access controls, and Terraform support to enable self-service observability practice in your organization.
Many customers have found business and customer success with Splunk Observability Cloud, including The University of Fribourg - which was able to accelerate issue resolution by 4X - and Rappi - which managed to reduce its MTTR by 94%!
