What is .conf?
.conf is Splunk’s annual user conference (and yes, we did name it after .config files.) That’s right: .conf is for the people who use Splunk, people who want to better use Splunk for more use cases. It’s also for leaders and executives who want to understand the power of Splunk.
Now, we want to dispel any myths: this isn’t your regular “user conference” snoozefest — this is .conf! Attendees expect a ton of learning and a LOT of fun and a few fezes to go around. Every year since 2010, the industry’s brightest IT, security, and DevOps practitioners convene to:
- Swap tips, stories, and new ways to solve complex security and observability challenges.
- Listen to great speakers, take hands-on labs, and even earn Splunk certifications.
- Learn how Splunk can help make the world more digitally resilient.
- Jam out to live tunes from in-house and professional musicians alike.
This year’s .conf is all about the future–preparing for the future, so you can be resilient when the challenges come. You’ll hear about cutting edge AI, new approaches to using all your data, and transformative observability use cases, and even innovations to power the SOC of the future.
(Visit conf.splunk.com to learn more about the in-person event.)
What is the .conf Global Broadcast?
At Splunk, we completely understand that many — most — people who want to attend .conf in-person are not actually able to come, for any number of reasons: family, travel, budget, etc. And so, we introduce the .conf Global Broadcast.
The .conf24 Global Broadcast is our way of bringing a tiny taste of the .conf experience to Splunk users around the world, all delivered virtually and for free. The .conf24 Global Broadcast is for anyone who is interested in getting the up-to-the-minute news from Splunk and sampling the in-person experience. (There’s always next year, after all.)
Our Global Broadcast is custom built for folks who can only attend online, for a few hours at most. That’s why we’re sharing a little bit of everything, so you can get a sample of what Splunk does. All for free, people who attend the .conf Global Broadcast can:
- Watch two .conf keynotes - the welcome keynote and product keynote.
- Get free hands-on-keyboard training from Splunk University.
- Experience classic .conf content across thought leadership, product sessions, and customer interviews.
We promise, it will be great. All you have to do is sign up for free. (That’s right, you do have to register in order to get the Broadcast.)
Who should attend the Global Broadcast?
- Splunk practitioners (security, engineering, IT), customers, and partners who can’t attend in-person
- Anyone who is curious about seeing Splunk in action
- Cisco customers and employees wanting to learn more about Splunk
- Data hobbyists, students, and lifelong learners
What can I watch? Agenda & programming
Here’s how the Global Broadcast agenda runs. Day 1 will open with the welcome keynote over three hours of programming 5pm - 8pm PT (GMT-8). Day 2 will have nine hours of streamed programming 8am-5pm, timed for three key regions around the world:
- The Americas (AMER)
- Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA): CEST/GMT (Central Europe, UK Greenwich)
- Asia & the Pacific (APAC): SGT / AEST / JST (Singapore, AU, JP)
So, on June 11-12, no matter where in the world you are, you can log in and watch high-quality Splunk content for free, all from the comfort (and time zone) of home. View the entire Global Broadcast Agenda, which is always up-to-date.
