Role Summary

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our Commerce team which is part of the core platform organization within Splunk cloud. The main focus of the team is to provide a set of services to enable Splunk product onboarding and automating the existing Splunk product delivery process.

What you'll get to do

  • Own and be accountable for the delivery of multiple features to enhance the Splunk onboarding experience for products and customers.
  • Design and implement APIs needed for the same.
  • Help scale our backend systems in a performant, secure, and reliable way
  • Collaborate with team members on the design and implementation of frameworks and backend components and mentor junior engineers, to help develop their technical skills, communication and careers
  • Help identify and develop ways to improve our team's productivity and efficiency by expanding on our existing tools and processes.
  • Collaborate with team members on the design and implementation of frameworks and backend components
  • Participate in the team's on-call rotation, where you will have the opportunity to work on real customer incidents and improve on them.

Must-have Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience with a Bachelor’s degree in computer science or 3 years with a Masters in Computer Science, or related technical field or equivalent practical experience
  • 5+ years of professional experience designing and implementing backend microservices using GoLang/Python/Docker/Terraform
  • Understanding of modern cloud infrastructure backend best practices
  • Experience in the implementation of complex technical architectures with a team
  • Eligible to support a FedRAMP High environment (US only).

Nice-to-have Qualifications

Base Pay Range

SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area

Base Pay Range: $146,400.00 - 201,300.00 per year

California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts

Base Pay Range: $131,760.00 - 181,170.00 per year

All other cities and states excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro Area and Washington DC Metro Area.

Base Pay Range: $117,120.00 - 161,040.00 per year

Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
