Splunk is looking for a highly motivated and technically curious college student to join our team. You’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring our documentation is discoverable, usable, and seamlessly connected across all product information. Our goal is to support your growth and development while empowering you for a successful start to your career.
Every intern also has the opportunity to experience Splunk's dynamic software engineering environment. Working to support internal and external customer information needs, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, receive mentorship, and gain insight into our product development process.

What you'll get to do
As an Information Architect Intern, you will:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assist in building and maintaining a comprehensive knowledge graph to serve as a centralized source of product information.
- Apply and manage metadata to enhance the discoverability and usability of content.
- Facilitate connections between content sites to ensure seamless access to product information.
- Assist in defining and optimizing Information Architecture best practices for developing content within the tooling infrastructure and XML-based markup environments.
Must-have Qualifications
- Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Information Architecture, Technical Writing, Communications, Journalism, Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction or a related technical field, and a strong record of academic achievement.
- At least one semester/quarter remaining to complete after the internship.
- Available to work 40 hours a week for 12 weeks

- Coursework or interest in metadata management.
- Familiarity developing and applying metadata.
- Knowledge of semantic metadata and search.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Passion for user-centered design.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret data and provide actionable recommendations.
- Positive work ethic and the ability to work both independently and as part of a group.
- An investigative mindset that likes to explore independently and also interact with peers and experts in order to learn new things.

Base Pay is based on a candidate completing 3 years of university or the academic equivalent
Base Pay
SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro and New York City Metro Area
Base Pay: $45 per hour
California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts
Base Pay: $41 per hour
All other cities and states excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro Area and Washington DC Metro Area.
Base Pay: $36 per hour
Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills, year in school and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role may be eligible for benefits.
