Your Impact
You will combine deep technical expertise with strong leadership and a passion for building secure, scalable secure solutions. This individual will help shape the direction of our security products, guide the development of innovative features, and ensure that our solutions remain at the cutting edge of security technology.
You will play a pivotal role in leading the technical design, development, and delivery of our SOAR security solution. This is a senior software engineering position where you’ll drive the technical direction, mentor engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to tackle sophisticated challenges.
You'll leverage your expertise in cloud and enterprise security, CI/CD, site reliability/devops and engineering leadership to deliver high-quality, secure, and scalable products. You will also take ownership of key features, guide the team through architectural decisions, and lead the development lifecycle from design to deployment.
Responsibilities will include:
Support a culture of learning and growth by collaborating with and mentoring engineers, providing constructive feedback, and encouraging innovation. Help the team grow their technical expertise.
Collaborate with your team to own major features and components from conception to delivery, ensuring that technical solutions meet business objectives, security requirements, and user needs.
Demonstrate your understanding of CI/CD principles and DevOps to ensure that our cloud and enterprise security solutions enable our customers to compose, run and monitor playbook execution, protect our customers against vulnerabilities and provide secure access across our security environments.
Participate in the on-call rotation to ensure the security, stability, and availability of the SOAR production system and be ready to diagnose, tackle, and resolve production issues with urgency and efficiency, especially related to CI/CD, pipelines, test automation and security.
Work with product managers, UX/UI designers, and other engineers to define feature requirements, deliver high-quality solutions and ensure alignment with product objectives. Be an advocate for CI/CD, test automation and scalability in all aspects of the product.
Identify new technologies and techniques that improve CI/CD, test automation, performance, and scalability of the SOAR platform. Actively resolve potential issues before they impact customers or the platform.
Collaborate to set the technical vision, expectations, and standards for the team. Hold the team accountable to those standards while fostering an environment that encourages teamwork, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field with 5 + years of experience in software engineering with an emphasis on cloud security, security, infrastructure, or networking
5 + years of experience with the cloud and unix enterprise services offered, including secure access controls, identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and secure APIs
5 + years of experience with at least one language (e.g., Python, Go, Java, C++, or similar) with deep experience in cloud-native development (microservices, containers etc.)
4 + years of experience designing and building large-scale, distributed systems with a focus on CI/CD, test automation, performance, scalability, and security in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and enterprise on-premise environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
Extensive experience with CI/CD, test automation and site reliability using GitLab and git-based tooling.
Experience with DevOps practices, containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD tools for automated deployment pipeline
Experience in leading incident response efforts and forensic analysis in a cloud security context
Experience with automation tools like Terraform, Puppet, Ansible, or CloudFormation for infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipelines
Comfortable in a fast-paced, sophisticated environment where priorities may shift quickly

Base Pay Range
SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area
Base Pay Range: $174,800.00 - 240,350.00 per year
California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts
Base Pay Range: $157,320.00 - 216,315.00 per year
All other cities and states excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro Area and Washington DC Metro Area.
Base Pay Range: $139,840.00 - 192,280.00 per year
Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
