Splunk Secure Gateway, a default enabled app on Splunk, connects mobile devices to a Splunk Enterprise or Splunk Cloud Platform deployment. The app routes encrypted data through Spacebridge, a routing service hosted on the Splunk common cloud infrastructure.
Yes. All data sent between mobile devices and Splunk Secure Gateway, a default enabled app on Splunk, transfers through Spacebridge. Spacebridge is a Splunk-built routing service that encrypts all data in transit and at rest. We use Libsodium and Transport Layer Security (TLS) 1.2 to encrypt data end-to-end at multiple layers of the process. Libsodium, a high-level cryptographic tool, features Integrated Encryption Scheme (IES). IES is a hybrid encryption scheme that provides semantic security functionality. TLS 1.2, which uses secure hash algorithms and advanced cipher suites, provides transport-level encryption. Libsodium encryption and TLS 1.2 protocol provide data protection both at rest and in transit. For full technical details, learn more here.
Yes. Splunk Mobile leverages Spacebridge, a routing service, and Splunk Secure Gateway, a default enabled app on the Splunk Platform. Spacebridge and Splunk Secure Gateway have been certified to meet SOC2, Type 2 and ISO27001 standards. If you’re using Spacebridge with a managed Splunk Cloud Platform deployment and have specifically purchased an applicable regulated environment, then you may transmit the applicable regulated data, including PHI and PCI data, as Spacebridge is HIPAA and PCI-DSS compliant.
Note that Spacebridge does not leverage the FIPS 140-2 validated Splunk Cryptographic Module and may not be used in environments that require this standard. Spacebridge and Mobile are not available for GovCloud or FedRAMP environments.
These products undergo regular compliance audits to ensure these standards continue to be met.
