Interview process times vary by role, but many interviews are generally completed within 2-3 weeks. 

Applications are reviewed frequently, and while response time varies, most applicants will hear back within 7-10 days of applying. We strive to communicate the status of all applications within a reasonable amount of time. However, this can vary depending on the nature of the position and the number of applicants. You are welcome to view the status of your application by logging into your Splunk career profile.

Splunk offers Paid Time Off (PTO) and paid holidays which vary by location. Please visit the Benefits & Wellbeing page to learn more about time away. Additionally, Splunk offers four paid global rest days per year.

Splunk will sponsor a candidate for an employment-based visa if: (1) the position is for an eligible job, (2) the candidate is qualified for the position and (3) the business is supportive of paying the related costs. Splunk will pay for the cost of premium processing in cases in which there is a specific business need for an expedited process.

If your job description states that your role is remote/distributed, you will not be required to come into an office at this time.

Unfortunately, recruitment fraud is a well-known way that third parties try to get personal information. You can read a little bit about how to protect yourself by reviewing the FBI’s warning. Please note: Splunk will never ask for a fee of any kind to apply. There are no application fees, recruiter placement fees, interview reservation fees, training fees, resume formatting/re-writing fees, etc.

You can read about what a legitimate Splunk application and hiring process looks like above. Please be wary of anything that deviates from that experience, such as:

  • Someone using an email alias (other than xxx@splunk.com) to contact you for personal information including your address, date of birth, passport information, social security number (or other government identification), and/or banking details.
  • Someone using an email alias (other than xxx@splunk.com or notification@jobvite.com) to contact you about a fake OR legitimate job posting. Please closely review the name of the sender and the email domain name associated with their account. All official Splunk recruitment emails will come from accounts formatted as: name@splunk.com, or notification@jobvite.com.
  • Being asked to participate in an interview by chat or email. Splunk does not conduct interviews by chat or email, and will always want to meet either over Zoom, on the phone or in person.
  • Someone urgently insisting that you act immediately within a very short time frame.
  • Someone making you a job offer through social media or an online forum, or making a job offer for a role you have not applied to or interviewed for. 
  • Before Splunk extends an offer, all candidates will first meet with the recruiter and interview team (either over Zoom, on the phone or in person) consistent with our application and hiring process described above.

Splunk will never ask you to make financial transactions on its behalf or for any Splunkers. Splunk will never ask you to receive and ship packages or goods during the recruitment process.

Some positions will require a pre-employment assessment through one of our testing assessment partners. Your recruiter will provide more information if a position you are being considered for has technical assessment requirements.

There are millions of ways people are using AI technologies when applying for jobs, writing resumes, and preparing for interviews. Here are a few examples on when you should and should NOT use AI during Splunk’s hiring process.

DO use AI to…

  • Ask for tips on how to prepare for different types of tests and interviews
  • Structure thoughts, check readability, and enhance clarity of responses, emails, resumes, and cover letters
  • Review job listings to find keywords to use in your resume or cover letter that accurately reflect your personal experience
  • Brainstorm multiple approaches to solving a coding problem or system design question
  • Review code for errors or suggest improvement
  • As a calculator

Do NOT use AI to…

  • Generate scripted responses to write your resume, cover letter, or writing sample (That means no copying and pasting!)
  • Generate a scripted response to complete an assessment
  • Create an script to read from to respond to an interview question
  • Create imaginary, dishonest, or inaccurate thoughts and experiences
  • Generate a solution to a coding problem or design question in real-time
  • Generate an entire code segments and presenting them as your own work

The most important part? Make sure you (yes, the real, authentic, human you) are always driving your application process. Our teams want to know your unique thoughts, learn about your individual experiences, and see the ways you process information!
